Family3 provides relational, evidence-informed coaching, consultancy and education for professionals, families and organisations navigating change. Founded by CORU-registered social worker, author, coach and educator Deirdre McCarthy, Family3 combines thoughtful conversation, professional knowledge and practical tools to help people move from uncertainty towards purposeful action.

THREE WAYS FAMILY3 CAN HELP

COACHING: A confidential and purposeful space to think clearly, explore challenges, strengthen confidence and decide what comes next. Coaching is available to professionals, leaders and people working in caring, community and helping roles.

CONSULTANCY: Practical support for organisations developing services, programmes, participation approaches, practice frameworks and resources.Family3 consultancy helps turn promising ideas and complex challenges into responses that can work in real practice.

 EDUCATION: Engaging, evidence-informed learning that connects theory with everyday practice. Education can be delivered through talks, workshops, team sessions, short courses and bespoke organisational programmes.

FAMILY3 AND THE BRÓD METHOD®: A CLEAR DISTINCTION

Family3 is the professional umbrella for Deirdre McCarthy’s coaching, consultancy and education services. The Bród Method® is a distinct specialist framework within Family3. It was developed specifically for work with children and families, particularly when children are experiencing separation, loss or other significant change. Not every Family3 service is a Bród service.Family3 coaching and consultancy stand in their own right. The Bród Method® is used where its child-centred principles, participation process and practical resources are specifically relevant.

MEET DEIRDRE: Deirdre McCarthy is a CORU-registered social worker, author, professional coach and educator with experience across child and family social work, family support, higher education, programme development and professional learning. Her approach is warm, reflective and practical. She helps people understand complexity, identify what matters and develop realistic ways forward. Deirdre is also the creator of The Bród Method®, her registered framework for supporting children and families through difficult experiences and change.

THE BRÓD METHOD®

Helping children feel Happy, Healthy, Safe and Loved. The Bród Method® helps adults create the conditions in which children can express their experiences, be listened to with care and see their views appropriately considered in decisions that affect them. The framework is supported by children’s books, direct-work resources, family tools and professional education.
